Contactless desktop reader CLRD730 is an evaluation reader made as reference design for contactless applications based on MIFARE, NTAG and ICODE products. Reader contains PN7642 NFC open controller. It is Cortex M33 microcontroller with integrated NFC interface and also contains powerful security. It supports different standards for reading writing to/from contactless cards on frequency 13,56 MHz. Also supports NFC functionality. Small size antenna permits reading/writing on distance up to 75 mm.

Description

Reader has integrated security subsystem (SAM AV1/AV2). Additional security is added with use SAM AV3 module in two options; first option as MIFARE SAM AV3 Add-On Board module in non-X mode and second option as SAM AV3 contact card via TDA8035.

Reader has two main communication interfaces (accessible from outside of the reader): one USB 2.0 full-speed serial port (marked as »USB-C 1«) and one I2C serial port. Second additional USB port is added for external power supply only (marked as »USB-C 2«). USB communication port is intended for communication with personal computer (application software).

Mode button (from side of the reader) is intended to switch between different communication protocols on USB-C 1 port: PC/SC mode or VCOM mode. The Pegoda CLRD730 desktop reader is designed to work with standard PC/SC and VCOM drivers on Windows 10/11, MacOS and Linux.

A MIFARE SAM AV3 contact ID-1 card through TDA8035 can be used through the offered contact interface of the CLRD730 reader.

Additional communication interfaces are accessible from inside of the CLRD730 reader: one SWD interface, second I2C serial interface (host). These interfaces are intended for development (programming/debugging) purposes.

CLRD730 device is desktop contactless reader and intended for use in development environment for development purposes – as reference contactless readers for working with MIFARE contactless cards and mobile phones (with NFC). The main purpose is to develop new software and hardware for contactless readers based on PN76XX family NFC open controllers.
